The point-rating system (PRS) of students’ performance is a set of measures that verify the quality of the educational work of students in mastering basic educational programs. The point-rating system of knowledge assessment is intended to improve the objectivity and reliability of assessing the level of students’ training and is used as a part of the educational process management at the university. PRS maintains motivation and stable active work of students during the semester, provides a conscious self-organization of educational activities, enhances the effectiveness of regular independent work, strengthens the control over systematic work of students in mastering educational programs by higher differentiation of evaluating the results of their learning activities, promotes self-discipline and students’ responsibility for the results of their training activities. The aim of this work is the comparative analysis of the point-rating system and the assessment with a traditional exam in the course of Pediatrics for the students enrolled in the programme 31.05.01. Therapy. The point-rating system was introduced in the educational process in 2011. We compared the performance of the students under the Federal State Educational Standard of higher education in 2015-2016 and the results of the examination session of the students trained under the State Educational Standard of the 2nd generation in 2016-2017 on the course of Pediatrics. The results of the data showed that the PRS gives the opportunity of obtaining the final grade for the semester performance, stimulates students to achieve better results, increases motivation for learning educational programs. The introduction of new information technologies, such as PRS, allows to improve the system of organizing the educational process and to enhance the quality of educational services

In the process of teaching students the curse on propaedeutics of internal diseases and for the control of knowledge, there are various methods applied - problem studies and test control. Propaedeutic therapy involves the study of methods of examining the patient in the clinic of internal diseases and primary assimilation of the clinical thinking elements. Logically holistic structures of tasks aimed at creating methods of thinking open the real potential of developing general and special mechanisms of mental activity in students: synthesis, analysis, and abstraction. A problem-solving exercise involves creating a problematic situation when a student can not complete the task by the ways known to him and must find a new way of acting. Accordingly, the problematic activity helps to build skills for diagnostic search, using the “from simple to complex” method. The pedagogical control, based on the feedback principle, is understood as timely and constant adjustments of mental activities of students, with confirmation of the correct answer and correction of errors serving as further training motivation. Test control, as a modification of the pedagogical control, is an easy-to-implement and effective option used as a feedback between the lecturer and the student. Test control assists in solving two main problems in managing the optimization of training: firstly, the time spent by lecturers and students and, secondly, the achieved educational outcome. In accordance with the integrative approach, test tasks are not the result of mechanical interaction, but of complex interaction of individual images properties. A systematic, orderly, focused test of knowledge control provides effective learning of a large amount of new information by students, develops the ability to exercise self-control and self-evaluation, meets the important objective - to use every minute of the student and faculty time fully and effectively

Despite the significant progress in prevention and treatment of infectious diseases, the situation in the region remains difficult. That fact dictates the necessity of modernizing approaches to infectious disease prevention and specialists' education. Improving the efficiency, consistency and practical orientation of the education will contribute to enhanced quality of healthcare and improve the epidemiological situation on infectious diseases. A priority in teaching is synoptical (systemic) principle, covering the issues of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of the most common infectious diseases. The subject of study of infectious diseases is the semiotics of infectious diseases. The program includes the goal and objectives of the discipline, its actuality in contemporary infectology, the list of basic knowledge and skills in all the studied blocks of the discipline. The lectures cover the most relevant topics in the curriculum and have the problem format, according to a current epidemiologic situation and considering the development of medicine. First, students learns the epidemiologic approach to studying infectious diseases during the practical course works with real clinical cases. The aim of the practical course is acquisition of basic theoretical, methodical and organizational parts of the curriculum. During the course we widely use the opening, mid-term and final forms of control. Students' take-home work includes some topics that cannot be studied in the practical course and controlled by tests, clinical cases and interview methods. An important role is attributed to the internship at the infectious disease hospital department under lecturer's supervision, where students learn to examine patients, distinguish main syndromes, formulate preliminary diagnosis and determine treatment tactics

The modern process of training a medical graduate makes new demands for the organization of education in Medical Institute since there is an increasing necessity of developing the creative aspect of a future doctor for the society. In modern education, learners are rather active participants of the educational process that passive knowledge recipients. A special attention is given to developing intelligence of high medical school students. This offers a lot of new views on the creative process, which contributes to the generation of new educational approaches to the creative concept in the educational process. At the modern stage of science development, the needs for individualization of the educational process and development of creative abilities in students have led to the appearance of a new direction in the pedagogy of creative learning, which activates the creative spirit of students. Our research in NEFU Medical Institute aims to study the creative aspect development trends in training medical students in innovative activities. The objective of this work is to study the suitability of unconventional methods to improve educational activities motivation in order to enhance the quality of learning. We conducted an experiment in Medical Institute at the Department of Normal and Pathological Physiology, within the Pathophysiology course - ҺThe use of unconventional forms of classes in taking of the Pathophysiology courseһ and analyzed for the increase in the learning motivation. Basing on the medical education conditions - revealing of motivation levels and cognitive interest of students, we identified the main learning problems: low cognitive interest in studying Pathophysiology and a moderate level of student self-actualization. To solve this problem, we created unconventional forms of classes and lectures for students. Our experiment showed that the use of modern teaching technologies supports interests of students in Pathophysiology and increases motivation. Thus, the effective introduction of various developing classes to the traditional educational process, specifically aimed at development of personal motivational sphere of students: memory, attention, spatial imagination and some other important psychological features, is one of the most important tasks of modern pedagogical education

The ability to conduct the lumbar puncture is one of the most important practical skills in Neurology. The lumbar puncture is used widely for diagnostic and therapeutic objectives. In addition to the technical difficulties, young physicians often face the psychological problems related to the uncertainty and fear of the procedure failing. Interactive teaching methods are an important step in the physician training. Lecturers at the Department of Neurology and Psychiatry hold the lumbar puncture training classes in the Simulation Center of the Medical Institute, M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University. The training is conducted on the lumbar puncture simulator which can provide the visual and tactile sensations identical to those obtained in clinical practice. The classes are held with clinical residents, interns, students in the classroom of basic practical skills. The practice consists of three stages: introduction, practical part and discussion. In the practical part the lecturer demonstrates the lumbar puncture technique on the simulator. Then the student conducts manipulation under the lecturer’s supervision. During the manipulation, the lecturer points out errors to the student. In case of an unsuccessful attempt, the procedure must be repeated. The lumbar puncture skill is counted if the procedure has been made by the student himself. In the third part of the practice, the group led by the lecturer discusses the practical work, analyzes the errors and debates the future actions. Thus, the interactive learning is a productive method in the higher medical education system. The simulator training skills improve the professional competence of the physician and it is necessary for the further clinical activities

The purpose of the Clinical Pathophysiology course is to form the basis for the rational medical thinking and effective actions of a future doctor. Clinical Pathophysiology helps students and physicians to develop the ability to analyze and synthesize individual facts, logic modeling of specific situations and systemic thinking. The Clinical Pathophysiology course offers a great opportunity to establish ties not only with basic medical and natural sciences (Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Genetics) disciplines, but with all clinical ones (Therapy, Surgery, Oncology, Hematology, Cardiology, and others.). Pathophysiology serves as a “bridge” between the theoretical and clinical disciplines. The main objective of the Pathophysiology course is the acquisition of pathophysiological thinking skills and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practice by students. The article summarizes the experience of teaching the Clinical Pathophysiology course for students of General Therapy Department, Medical Institute, M.K.Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University (NEFU). The article describes the basic goals and objectives of the course, applied educational technologies. It demonstrates the necessity of integrating basic and clinical knowledge in the training of doctors in compliance with modern trends in the development of medical science

Knowledge must serve humane purposes, and intellectual and professional development should be combined with moral growth. The students of the Medical Institute, M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University (MI NEFU), future qualified medical staff should understand their cultural mission, take responsibility for maintaining a healthy moral atmosphere in the society, and realize that belonging to the MI NEFU requires compliance with the high standards of professionalism, moral and decent behavior. The student must respect the moral tradition of the Russian medical science and higher education, to follow the traditions of generosity and selfless dedication to the medical profession. Not only during the learning process in the classrooms within the institute, university, healthcare organizations - clinical bases of the Institute, but also in their daily lives, students must correspond to the highest rank of the future doctor and form a positive image of the MI NEFU student in the society, which determined the real need for the Student Code of MI NEFU. The aim is active engaging of Medical Institute NEFU students in the creation of normative rules of conduct (the Code) to provide quality medical education and harmonious development of students, to form moral-ethic competencies of future qualified health professionals, as well as to enhance the prestige and image of MI NEFU as an educational institution with strong moral and ethical traditions. This is the first attempt to develop and adopt the student’s code of the medical school in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia). The Code stipulates the ethical-moral aspects of the students’ conduct, their attitude towards the teaching and learning process, relationships with lecturers and support staff, patients, and with each other, as well as their appearance, maintaining the university community in the spirit of unity, pride in belonging to the Medical Institute.
