В настоящей публикации впервые обобщены данные о научных исследованиях в области изучения традиционной якутской металлургии. В работе приведены важнейшие историко-этнографические и археологические источники по заявленной проблематике. Автором продемонстрирован процесс накопления исторических знаний о производстве железа якутами в эпохи позднего средневековья и нового времени. В работе определены этапы истории исследования традиционной металлургии якутов, дана характеристика каждому периоду, выделены существующие проблемы.
The relevance of the research involves the necessity of conducting a comprehensive analysis of historical knowledge about traditional Yakut metallurgy, identifying the main stages of its formation and development. In the article the need to unite disparate historical, ethnographic and archaeological sources into a unified system is emphasized. The objectives of this paper are to systematize and analyze the historiographic material, as well as to identify key trends and directions in the study of traditional Yakut metallurgy. In the course of the study, a thorough review of historical and ethnographic literature, as well as archaeological finds, was conducted in order to get a detailed picture of the stages of Yakut metallurgy study. The results obtained reflect the stages of accumulation of historical knowledge about Yakut iron-making. In the study, the key stages in the history of traditional metallurgy research are identified and each period is characterized.
